Region Leadership
Behind every drive, dinner, autocross & anniversary celebration is a group of members who volunteer their time to keep PCA-LA moving forward.
Porsche Club of America, Los Angeles Region is run entirely by volunteers — professionals, enthusiasts, organizers, planners — who steward the club’s operations, finances, events & long-term direction.
President — Sorin Cioban
ACTIVE SINCE 2020
Sorin brings a project manager’s mindset to PCA-LA—focused on coordination, sequencing, & execution across a growing calendar. After four years as Activities Chair, he steps into the presidency with a clear emphasis on structure, variety & making the club easier to engage across different kinds of members & events.
His connection to Porsche traces back to Germany’s Black Forest, where in 2017 he rented a 911 & drove the same roads he grew up on. That experience reshaped how he thought about cars, & it continues to inform his direction for PCA-LA: more activity, more visibility & more ways for members to feel part of the club.
Past President — Steve Nguyen
ACTIVE SINCE 2018
Steve brings a steady, people-first presence to PCA-LA, balancing leadership with genuine participation in the life of the club. He values showing up—at drives, events & informal gatherings—and believes the strength of the organization comes from members feeling welcomed, seen & engaged.
A photographer by practice, Steve is attentive to moments as they unfold—how people gather, move & connect around the cars. His connection to Porsche is shaped by time spent driving, learning & sharing that enthusiasm alongside other members. As President, he focuses on continuity, accessibility & maintaining a culture where longtime members & newcomers alike feel equally at home.
Vice President — Scott Kelly
ACTIVE SINCE 1999
Scott brings a warm, welcoming presence to PCA-LA—paired with the kind of long-standing knowledge that only comes from a life shaped by cars. A member since 1999, he helps make the club feel approachable for new members while bringing deep enthusiasm for Porsche, from stock to Ünstock, into every conversation, drive, & event.
Cars have been part of his life from the beginning. A childhood ride in the back of a brand-new 911 on the way to Sea World sparked an early love for Porsche, & by the time he bought his ’72 911 Targa, joining PCA felt inevitable. He still has a soft spot for icons like the ’73 Carrera RS & 997.2 GT2 RS, but some of his favorite club memories are less about any one car than the people around them—an early Full Moon Drive with 50–70 cars, or a Utah road trip where good roads, small towns & shared meals turned into lasting friendships.
Secretary — Lauren Santos
ACTIVE SINCE 2022
Lauren brings reliability, consistency, & a thoughtful sense of organization to PCA-LA—helping keep communication clear, timely & member-focused. With a background leading organizations over the past decade, she approaches the role with optimism, professionalism & a steady commitment to showing up in meaningful ways.
Her path into the club started simply: after getting her Porsche, she wanted to drive it, found her way to autocross & quickly got pulled in. A love for driving goes back even further—family off-roading trips, a candy apple red cab her mom used to drive & an early feeling that Porsche represented both freedom & aspiration. She still has a soft spot for the 964, especially after her time at Singer & is always energized by events that bring together community, creativity & shared enthusiasm.
Treasurer Co-Chair — Chris Sudlow
ACTIVE SINCE 2025
Chris brings a business-minded approach to PCA-LA’s financials—paired with a lifelong pull toward Porsche that started with his grandfather’s 944. He’s hands-on with his cars, shows up to meets weekly, & is actively working toward a racing license.
His origin story is pure PCA-LA: an old 911 track car with a blown motor, 9 months to get it running, then AX—and he was hooked. The running joke is the car knows more people in the club than he does; he still gets asked if it’s the previous owner’s car.
Looking ahead, his mindset is clear: more fun = more members. Chris is especially excited to grow the club’s footprint through AX & High Performance Driver Education—building stronger programs, better events & a community that keeps people coming back.
Treasurer Co-Chair — Mickey
ACTIVE SINCE 2022
Mickey brings a steady hand to PCA-LA’s financial side—organized, reliable & focused on keeping things clear behind the scenes. With a background in bookkeeping, office management & business administration, the role suits a natural attention to detail & structure.
Autocross was already part of the family orbit, but it didn’t take long for Mickey to get pulled in herself. After signing up for her first event in 2022, she was hooked. Mid-engine cars remain a favorite for their balance & responsiveness, with a particular soft spot for the GT4 RS & the 914. One of the more memorable club moments: a ride-along at Autocross in a friend’s Ford Raptor—a funny contrast to his usual GT3 RS.
Social Co-Chair — Chad McCoy
ACTIVE SINCE 2014
Chad optimizes for atmosphere. He believes the best events don’t announce themselves—they simply feel right: good food, good timing & space for people to connect naturally.
His taste leans distinctly analog—less screen, more road—and he finds driving almost meditative. One of his favorite club moments was hosting an event at the Magic Castle, where surprise & shared experience took center stage. He appreciates Porsche for its efficiency & versatility, with a particular fondness for the ’84 911 & the spirit of the Dakar.
Social Co-Chair — Walid Hamid
ACTIVE SINCE 2024
Walid brings a decade of premium brand experience into PCA-LA’s social calendar—focused on venue, tone, flow & the small details that make gatherings feel intentional & easy to show up for.
His relationship with cars started young—watching races on TV, sitting in the driver’s seat of his dad’s Mercedes just to start the engine, hands on the wheel. A black-on-black 964 Turbo was the first Porsche that really imprinted & years later he closed that loop with his own 911—eventually a 991 Turbo S. He’s drawn to the culture as much as the machine, from track-day fundamentals to bucket-list laps at the Nürburgring, & he brings that same energy to the club: hospitality-first, conversation-forward & built for real connection.
Partnership Chair — William Baker
ACTIVE SINCE 2003
William brings a long-standing connection to PCA-LA into his role—focused on building relationships that feel intentional, aligned & meaningful to members. A member since 2003 and former Vice President, he approaches partnerships with an emphasis on community & shared values.
Raised in Detroit, William has long been drawn to cars as functional works of art, a perspective shaped in part by his passion for architecture. He still has a particular fondness for his first Porsche—a 1996 911 Carrera 4S, finished in metallic black over Cashmere. For him, cars carry much of the same appeal as architecture: thoughtfully designed, meant to be lived with & stewarded over time.
Webmaster — Lanli Su
ACTIVE SINCE 2024
Lanli designs & maintains the club’s digital infrastructure. Her work prioritizes systems that are clear, maintainable & built to evolve.
System-forward & taste-driven, her work sits at the intersection of art & design. Rooted in proceduralism & strategy, she built organizations with longevity in mind. Her connection to Porsche—particularly across the G50 & 992 eras—shapes an appreciation for clarity, continuity & design that endures.
65 Years Forward
For 65 years, PCA-LA has evolved because each generation of leaders builds on the last.
From event chairs to treasurers, autocross stewards to membership directors — the structure behind the club ensures continuity, accountability & growth.
Our responsibility is twofold: preserve the integrity of the club & build systems that allow the next board to move more expediently.
As the automotive landscape changes & member expectations evolve, PCA-LA continues refining its digital presence, sponsor visibility & event infrastructure — ensuring the club remains relevant for the next 65 years.
Foundation
Leadership: Steve Nguyen (2021–2025)
Steve’s leadership during this period centered on strengthening participation while reinforcing structure. He consistently encouraged ideas from across the board & membership, creating space for events that reflected the diversity of interests & communities across Los Angeles.
This openness supported a wide range of programming—autocross, breakfasts, dinners, social meetups, multi-state trips & cross-disciplinary gatherings connecting cars, design & culture. The calendar became more consistent & dependable, offering clear opportunities for members to engage throughout the year.
Creativity was balanced with discipline. Programming decisions were evaluated through logistics, scalability & financial responsibility, ensuring growth aligned with the club’s long-term health. Autocross remained a major driver of participation & financial stability during this period, supported through steady coordination & stewardship as the program continued to evolve.
This approach sustained a high-volume event calendar across multiple years—on track, on the road & off the road—demonstrating the club’s ability to operate at scale while remaining member-focused.
Throughout this time, Steve personally managed the club’s social media presence, emphasizing member visibility & shared moments. With a keen photographic eye, he captured how people gather & connect around the cars—using initiatives like Member’s Monday to highlight individuals across the community—while supporting a digital refresh aligned with the club’s growth & direction.

The Road Ahead
Leadership: Sorin Cioban (2026–Present)
Sorin’s presidency is centered on expanding participation & increasing visibility across the club. After four years serving as Activities Chair, he steps into this role with a project manager’s mindset—focused on coordination, sequencing & execution across a growing calendar.
His drive tours are thoughtfully planned & route-driven, stretching from Malibu to Ojai to Azusa, including different sections of Angeles Crest Highway & often concluding with a destination breakfast. These outings have grown in both popularity & regional presence, reinforcing PCA-LA’s visibility while strengthening connection between members on the road. They also invite members to experience Los Angeles more deeply—through its coastlines, mountain passes & backroads—turning familiar stretches into shared discoveries.
Looking ahead, his direction is defined by More Fun for Everyone. While signature driving tours remain central, the calendar continues to diversify through technical garage sessions, family-oriented social mixers, shorter coffee runs & new event formats designed to create more frequent entry points for engagement.
Growth is pursued with intention. Increased activity is supported by structured planning, clear communication & operational discipline, ensuring participation expands in a way that remains organized, scalable & sustainable.
The focus is on building an active, visible community—one that is consistently on the road, present across Los Angeles & continuously creating opportunities for members to connect. With more events, more variety & more reasons to get involved, the road ahead is one to be excited about.
